The water
Temperature, mineral character, clarity and how it actually feels to sit in — the thing you came for.

About
We are a small team mapping thermal and mineral bathing across Australia — and we visit every spring we write about.
Who we are
Hot Springs Australia exists because the country's best soaks are scattered, inconsistent and hard to compare — a $45 bathhouse ninety minutes from Melbourne and a free desert pool four-wheel-driving days from anywhere both get called "hot springs", and neither website tells you which is right for your trip.
So we built the comparison we wanted. We cover geothermal bathhouses, artesian bore pools and remote natural springs side by side, in plain language, with the practical details — temperature, services, access and price — up front.
We are based in Melbourne and travel the country to bathe, from the Mornington Peninsula to the Kimberley. Everything you read here is written by people who have been in the water.
Our method
Temperature, mineral character, clarity and how it actually feels to sit in — the thing you came for.
Views, planting, architecture, atmosphere and how crowded it gets at the times most people visit.
Saunas, treatments, food, accommodation and — something too many springs ignore — accessibility.
What you pay measured against what you actually get. A free desert pool and a premium spa are judged on their own terms.
How hard the drive, what vehicle you need, how easy the entry, and the season or hours that limit a visit.
Those five combine into a single mark out of five and one honest line. We never round up a tired pool, and nothing here is sponsored.
A note on prices and hours: every operator sets its own, and they change with the season. We give indicative figures to help you plan and always point you to the official site to confirm before you book or set out.
